Created by artist David Cockrum and writer Chris Claremont, Mystique made her Marvel Comics debut in 1978's Ms. Marvel #16. Known for her shapeshifting abilities and complex nature, Mystique has been both a supervillain and an antihero, capturing the fascination of fans worldwide. Mystique, or Raven Darkhölme, has appeared in seven of 20th Century Studios' X-Men movies, with her live-action debut in 2000. The role was first portrayed by Rebecca Romijn, who played the character in X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003), and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).
