Batman: Arkham Asylum TV Series Shelved At Max

The anticipated Arkham Asylum TV series will not be moving forward at Max, Variety has confirmed.   As reported exclusively by Variety in October 2022, Antonio Campos was set to serve as the writer and showrunner for the series, which was intended to be a part of Matt Reeves' "The Batman" universe. However, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, Campos' iteration of the series will not proceed. Despite this setback, the possibility remains for a new project centered around Gotham City's notorious asylum in the future. This news marks another twist in the long and complicated journey of the show's development. Initially announced in July 2020, the series was first envisioned to explore the inner workings of the Gotham Police Department as depicted in "The Batman."
