Nikocado Avocado's Drastic Weight Loss Shocks Fans: A Viral Transformation

VIDEO REVEAL BELOW ARTICLE:

Nicholas Perry, known online as Nikocado Avocado, stunned his 4 million YouTube subscribers with a dramatic weight loss reveal. The YouTuber, famous for his mukbang videos, showcased his transformation in a video titled "Two Steps Ahead," where he removed a panda mascot head to reveal his 250-pound weight loss.

Perry, 32, stated he had been "fooling viewers" for two years, strategically posting pre-recorded videos to maintain the illusion of his previous weight. According to Perry, this elaborate ruse was part of a larger plan to play with his audience's expectations, commenting that he wanted to stay "two steps ahead."

From Vegan to Mukbang Star

Perry, based in Las Vegas, started his YouTube career a decade ago as a vegan vlogger. However, in 2016, he abandoned the lifestyle, criticizing vegans as “imbalanced and hostile.” From there, he transitioned into mukbang content, where he gained notoriety for consuming massive portions of fast food on camera. Perry's mukbang videos were infamous for his loud, exaggerated persona, often involving shouting, cursing, and health warnings. Over the years, fans and fellow YouTubers expressed concern for his well-being, worrying that he was "eating himself to death" for clicks.

The Weight-Loss Reveal

The reveal came as a shock, especially given Perry’s consistent appearance in his videos over the past two years. Perry explained he used editing tricks and filmed content well in advance to conceal his transformation. He even shaved his head to avoid recognition in public and enlisted fellow YouTubers to help keep his secret. Despite accusations that he faked the weight loss using AI, Perry maintained that the transformation was real. A recent TikTok video of him posing with a fan seemed to confirm his new, healthier state.

A Social Experiment

In an email to The New York Times, Perry described his weight-loss journey as the "greatest social experiment" of his life. He aimed to draw a parallel between his own over-consumption and the obsessive nature of internet culture, where viewers devour content without restraint. While Perry’s transformation has been met with praise, he plans to continue making mukbang videos, even teasing his return with a giant tray of noodles. The reveal video, and the elaborate scheme behind it, has secured its place in YouTube history, leaving fans both surprised and intrigued by Perry's continued evolution.
