Why Haliey Welch, The 'Hawk Tuah Girl,' Refuses To Thank The Creators Of Her Viral Fame

Haliey Welch, widely known across the internet as the "Hawk Tuah girl" or the "spit on that thang" girl, has captured headlines once again. Her rise to fame began in June when a bold and candid video describing her bedroom antics went viral, catapulting her into the public eye. Yet, despite her newfound fame and reported net worth is either between 200,000,or $12 million.Welch has made it clear she owes no gratitude to the creators who played a role in her rise.

A Viral Sensation with a Controversial Backstory

The infamous video that made Welch a household name was created by Tim Dickerson and DeArius Marlow, known collectively as Tim & Dee TV. Their content amplified Welch’s personality and unique humor, making her a viral phenomenon. However, their relationship seems to have soured significantly since then.

Rumors even surfaced that Welch was planning to sue the duo, with Twitter’s DramaAlert fueling speculation by suggesting Tim & Dee TV had confirmed the claims. Welch, however, dismissed these rumors in her signature style, posting a parody of a courtroom scene from Legally Blonde with her face superimposed over Reese Witherspoon’s. Her caption? A succinct “Fake news.”

No Lawsuit, but No Thanks

While Welch isn't pursuing legal action, she has no intention of showing gratitude to the creators either. Speaking on The Bobby Bones Show, she clarified why. Welch alleged that she and her team had reached out to Tim & Dee TV, asking them to stop posting videos of her. Instead of cooperating, the creators allegedly blocked her on all platforms.

When asked if she’d consider thanking the duo for their role in her rise to fame, Welch had a sharp retort:

“Thank them for what?” she asked. “They wouldn’t stop posting the videos, even when I asked. So I’m not telling them thank you for anything.”

Welch also revealed she hasn’t made any money directly from the viral video itself, as it technically belongs to Tim & Dee TV.

Moving Forward and Staying in the Spotlight

Despite the fallout, Welch shows no signs of slowing down. In a recent social media post, she reflected on how the viral moment “changed [her] life forever” and hinted at big plans on the horizon. "I'm just getting started," she teased, signaling new ventures ahead.

For Welch, the viral fame is simply a stepping stone toward building her personal brand. She appears determined to carve her own path without acknowledging those who played a part in her initial success.
