Vision Pro and visionOS 2 

The Vision Pro headset, along with visionOS 2, brings productivity enhancements and new immersive experiences. Users can now create spatial photos from regular images and navigate more intuitively with new control gestures. The headset will be available in eight new countries.

Apple TV+ InSight Feature 

A new feature called InSight for Apple TV+ allows viewers to learn actor names and song titles as they appear on screen, similar to Amazon's X-Ray. It also integrates Shazam-like functionality to identify songs and add them to Apple Music playlists.

New Passwords App 

Apple introduced a standalone Passwords app to simplify managing and navigating passwords, including Wi-Fi passwords, passkeys, and codes not related to websites or services.

Smart Script for iPad 

A new Smart Script feature for iPad improves handwriting recognition when using Apple Pencil in Notes, making handwritten notes smoother and more legible through on-device machine learning.

Calculator for iPad 

Apple's Calculator app finally arrives on iPad, utilizing the larger screen to introduce new features like Math Notes, which performs calculations within the app.

macOS Sequoia 

The new macOS Sequoia includes a significant feature: iPhone mirroring. Users can mirror their iPhone screen on their Mac, control it, and receive iPhone audio through the Mac while the iPhone remains locked.

Messages via Satellite 

A new feature allows users to send messages via satellite when there is no cellular signal, similar to Apple's emergency SOS feature. Users need to point their phone in the right direction to connect with a satellite.

Photos App Redesign 

The redesigned Photos app in iOS 18 offers new navigation and organizational features, making it easier to find and enjoy favorite photos, including those of friends, family, pets, and trips.

Tap to Cash 

Tap to Cash allows users to transfer money by tapping together two iPhones, leveraging NFC functionality for secure and private transactions without sharing personal information.

Generative AI Integration 

Apple is integrating ChatGPT into Siri and other Apple apps, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 and other generative AI models. Additionally, Apple will work with other AI partners beyond OpenAI, starting with Google’s Gemini model.

iOS 18 Customization 

iOS 18 introduces more customization options for the home screen, allowing users to freely place app icons and widgets. The update also includes app lock features for enhanced privacy.
