The Marvelous Return: Jessica Jones And Iron Fist Stars Discuss Potential Comeback

Marvel Studios has made a strategic decision to reintegrate its Marvel Television legacy into the official Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

This move has revived fan interest in beloved characters and series, notably those from the Marvel Netflix universe. Last year, these series transitioned to Disney+, signaling a renewed commitment to their stories and characters. Among the highlights of this revival is the highly anticipated "Daredevil: Born Again," set to bring back familiar faces like Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (The Kingpin), and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher).

Possible Returns for Jessica Jones and Iron Fist

With this exciting resurgence, fans are eager to see who else from the Marvel Netflix series might return. Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones, who portrayed Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand/Iron Fist, respectively, have expressed varying degrees of interest in reprising their roles.

Krysten Ritter on Returning as Jessica Jones

Krysten Ritter, who portrayed the hard-hitting private investigator Jessica Jones, has made it clear that she is more than willing to return. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Ritter shared her enthusiasm:

"100% [I would return as Jessica Jones]. I am ready, and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She’s a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long. I played that character for five years, and she’s a character who’s very important to me and many women and men. So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already [Laughs]."

Ritter's affection for Jessica Jones and her readiness to don the character's iconic leather jacket again is palpable. Her return would undoubtedly excite fans who have followed her journey through three intense seasons and "The Defenders" series.

Finn Jones Talks Iron Fist and Heroes for Hire

Finn Jones, who brought Danny Rand/Iron Fist to life, also expressed his interest in returning, particularly if it means exploring the "Heroes for Hire" storyline alongside Mike Colter’s Luke Cage. In an interview with The Nerd Shepherd, Jones said:

"[There’s] a lot of room for growth with that character… I think I’m in a place professionally where I would like to continue to grow with that character. I would love to see the chemistry between me and Mike again. It was always fantastic. I think those are really interesting characters to put together. If they would bring me and Mike back to do a Heroes For Hire TV series, I think it would be the right way."

The idea of a "Heroes for Hire" series is tantalizing for fans who enjoyed the dynamic between Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Their team-up in the comics has always been a fan favorite, and bringing that chemistry to the MCU would be a thrilling development.

Challenges and New Directions

While the enthusiasm from both actors is evident, the path to their return is not without obstacles. Rumors suggest that the upcoming animated series "Eyes of Wakanda" might introduce a new Iron Fist, potentially played by an Asian actor to align with the Lin Lie incarnation of the hero. This new direction could complicate Finn Jones’s return but also opens the door for fresh narratives within the MCU.

Current Projects and Future Prospects

Currently, Krysten Ritter stars in the spin-off series "Orphan Black: Echoes," showcasing her versatility beyond the Marvel universe. Mike Colter is wrapping up his role in the critically acclaimed series "Evil" on Paramount+, where he continues to deliver compelling performances. Finn Jones faced a setback with the Starz series "The Venery of Samantha Bird," which was scrapped mid-production due to strikes. Despite this, Jones remains optimistic about future opportunities.

As Marvel Studios continues to expand its universe, the potential return of characters like Jessica Jones and Iron Fist is a source of excitement for fans. With Krysten Ritter and Finn Jones expressing strong interest, the possibility of seeing these characters again remains alive. Whether through a new series or a continuation of their previous arcs, the legacy of Marvel's Netflix heroes is poised to enrich the MCU further.
