I was trying to sound like somebody else.”

Hart recalls the conversation: “The producer came up to me while I was signing autographs and said, ‘I had no idea you were that famous. We’re gonna draw you in as you.’”
In a rare last-minute change, the Simpsons production team scrapped the Mad Viking character and decided to make Hart a part of the storyline as himself. This decision proved to be the right one, as his cameo became an iconic moment for both wrestling fans and Simpsons enthusiasts.
